Communicating FAIR expectations through data policies in Ireland
Presenter: Beth Knazook
Data Project Manager, Digital Repository of Ireland
Abstract
Research data policies are the backbone of Open Research, ensuring organisational transparency, and building trustworthiness and accountability by clearly communicating any obligations for managing and sharing data produced in the course of publicly funded research. Policies are also useful tools for demonstrating an organisation’s alignment with certain communities of practice, international standards, and legal and ethical frameworks, and a review of common trends in policy development can indicate how best practice is evolving.
This lightning talk will discuss the data gathered from Irish research policies published in FAIRsharing, updating the findings from DRI’s 2025 Love Data Week webinar (available on the DRI Vimeo channel).
