In May of this year, Ireland’s National Open Research Forum and HEAnet (Ireland’s National Research and Education Network and EOSC Mandated Organisation) were awarded funding by the RDA Tiger Cascade Grant Scheme to develop a national PID recommendation aligned with EOSC frameworks.
The project builds directly on the work of the RDA National PID Strategies Interest Group, particularly their focus on regional PID alignment and the development of updated use case templates. A central deliverable will be a reusable, openly available template and methodology to support other countries in developing their own EOSC-aligned national PID strategies.
RDA TIGER
RDA TIGER supports Working Groups that concretely align, harmonise and standardise Open Science developments and technologies globally. The project is coordinated by the RDA-Association, with the Committee on Data of the International Science Council (CODATA), Netherlands eScienceCenter, and the Data Archiving and Networking Services (DANS) joining as partners. The services it provides will facilitate and support coherent and consistent Working Group definitions and increase the impact of the key European initiatives on the global level.
NORF has worked alongside the RDA in supporting National PID strategies. This is exemplified in NORF’s addition of a case study ‘3.3.3 Ireland: A PID Path to 2030’ in the National PID Strategies- The Value of RDA for Policy White Paper Series.
