NORF’s 2025 Open Research Fund is now open to proposals. This year, the fund specifically targets the sustainability and growth of open research networks established under the 2022 Open Research Fund, ensuring long-term impact and resilience in Ireland’s open research ecosystem.

Ireland’s National Open Research Forum (NORF) established the Open Research Fund in 2022 to advance the implementation of Ireland’s National Action Plan for Open Research 2022-2030 and support the transition towards an open research ecosystem.

The 2025 Open Research Fund is provided through the Higher Education Authority. The funds are administered by the Digital Repository of Ireland, as the coordinating body for NORF, headquartered under the Royal Irish Academy.

NORF 2025 Open Research Fund Call

The NORF 2025 Open Research Fund builds on previous investments and aims to support open research networks as they transition from grant-funded projects to self-sustaining entities. This funding call aligns with Action A3.4 of the National Action Plan for Open Research, which emphasises the role of NORF in supporting institutional and community networks for open research.

The NORF 2025 Open Research Fund is a targeted call aimed at existing networks formed in response to the implementation of priority actions funded under the NORF 2022 Open Research Fund.
