Pádraig Carmody
We are pleased to welcome Pádraig Carmody MRIA to the National Open Research Festival (NORFest) 2025, at which he will participate in the ‘Connecting Research Security, Academic Freedom, and Research Integrity in an Open Research Environment’ panel discussion on Thursday, 6 November 2025.
Pádraig Carmody is Professor in Geography at Trinity College, the University of Dublin where he did his undergraduate and masters work and is a Senior Research Associate at the University of Johannesburg. His Ph.D. is from the University of Minnesota in the US, where after graduation he taught at the University of Vermont. At TCD he directs the Masters in Development Practice and is a former Trinity director of CHARM EU. He became a Member of the Royal Irish Academy in 2018.
