Join researchers, educators, archivists and funders from around the world for the QSA*Net Online Workshop: Building an International Network for Qualitative Secondary Analysis on 6 May, 2025, from 12:30–2:00 p.m.(GMT). This collaborative session explores how we can advance expertise, innovation and ethical collaboration in qualitative secondary analysis (QSA).
As qualitative research expands across fields, so do the opportunities to rethink how data can be shared, repurposed and reinterpreted. This gathering will provide a space to explore the potential benefits, ethical considerations and innovative methodologies associated with qualitative data reuse.
Workshop Objectives:
- Building Community – Connecting researchers across disciplines and sectors to strengthen QSA understanding.
- Promoting Expertise & Innovation – Showcasing cutting-edge QSA approaches and facilitating cross-sectoral knowledge exchange.
- Supporting Researcher Engagement – Developing resources and fostering knowledge-sharing opportunities.
Workshop Structure:
- Session 1: Network Mapping & Community Building (30 min) – Identifying interests, expertise, and challenges in QSA.
- Session 2: Methodological Innovation Showcase (45 min) – Presentations on innovative QSA applications.
- Session 3: Future Directions & Collaboration (15 min) – Strategies for resource development, expansion, and future initiatives.
This event is open to qualitative researchers, educators, research support professionals, data repository experts, archivists and funders. It is jointly organised by Maynooth University, University of Leeds, and Technological University of the Shannon, with support from the Horizons Challenge Network for Time and the Centre for Research on Families, Lifecourse and Generations (FLaG).
