ROCHE Project Update: Open Science in Public Private Research Partnerships

ROCHE Project Update: Open Science in Public Private Research Partnerships

Workshop Abstract

ROCHE (Review of Open Research Health Ecosystems) will conduct an exploration of the practical implications of open research for data managers, researchers, collaborators and other stakeholders to explore their role in navigating the challenges posed specifically by Public Private Research Partnerships (PPRPs). Breakout groups will use fictionalized scenarios to examine the role of institutional and discipline-specific norms in shaping policy around open research practices particularly where there is intellectual property creation alongside commercial sensitivities.  Participants will also explore open research supports, tools, and guidance/training and the most effective timelines for their implementation in the research lifecycle.

Participants will leave the workshop with a deeper understanding of the practical challenges and considerations involved in applying Open Research principles within PPRPs, as well as peer-informed strategies, tools, and questions to support decision-making around open research and commercialisation in their own professional contexts. They will also have access to a summary of the workshop discussions and visual outputs created by a graphic recording artist, capturing key themes and insights from the session.

A graphic recording artist will be on hand to assist in documenting working group outcomes and best practice consensus.
