Join the NORF-funded SCOIR project for ‘Shaping the Future of Humanities: Research Outputs and Open Access’, a two-part webinar series on Wednesday, 4 December 2024 and Wednesday, 15 January 2025.

During these online discussions, the SCOIR team will present their major project outputs for feedback and to raise awareness. The institutional Open Access Policy Framework and the draft Research Outputs and Open Access Bill 2024 which have been developed by the SCOIR project will be focused on. Participants will gain valuable insights into the draft bill, its goals, and its potential impact on scholarly practices.

Open Access Policy Framework: Driving Accessibility in Humanities Research

On Wednesday, 15 December 2025, 13:00-14:00 (GMT), join SCOIR for the second webinar of the series which will focus on its institutional Open Access Policy Framework and its implications for humanities scholarship. This session will explore the framework’s principles, goals, and strategies to enhance the accessibility and dissemination of research outputs in the field of humanities.

Whether you’re a researcher, educator, or policymaker, this event provides an opportunity to engage in critical discussions about how open access policies can shape the future of academic publishing and ensure equitable access to knowledge. Your insights and feedback will help refine the Policyframework.

About the SCOIR project

SCOIR (Secondary rights, Copyright, Open access, Institutional policies, and Rights retention) is funded under the NORF Open Research Fund 2023. Strand I: Priority Actions. Co-led by Trinity College Dublin and TU Dublin, the project aims to achieve the objectives outlined by NORF by drafting secondary rights legislation for Ireland and by creating an Open Access and Rights Retention policy framework for institutions and funders.
